Empowering Ratri Begum In Jhagrar Char and Transforming Lives in Sherpur District

Jhagrar Char is a rural village located in Sherpur district, Bangladesh. One resident of this village, Ratri Begum, has experienced significant hardships. Sadly, she lost her husband a long time ago, leaving her with a single child and no one to support them. Ratri Begum has been relying on begging to make a living, particularly during the harsh winter months in North Bengal.

During a winter clothing distribution campaign in Sherpur district, ABABIL Foundation Bangladesh came across Ratri Begum’s story. The accompanying picture shows Rahat Hossain, a dedicated worker of the foundation, wrapping winter clothes around this vulnerable mother. After enduring a challenging journey and putting in tireless efforts, the foundation was able to bring a genuine smile to Ratri Begum’s face.

ABABIL Foundation Bangladesh has been working for ten years, aiming to bring happiness to the lives of underprivileged individuals. Their commitment to making a positive difference has allowed them to support communities in need. By sharing Ratri Begum’s story, they highlight the resilience of Jhagrar Char’s unique culture and demonstrate their ongoing efforts to uplift impoverished individuals.
